Peggs, Oklahoma | Family Session
What you see is the most dreamy light reflecting on crisp cold water. What you don't see is the absolute scorching Oklahoma heat that we powered through for these family photos. But, was it worth it, or was it absolutely worth it?
Meet the John Robinson family—my brother and his wife, plus their little baby James (my godson!). Last May, we were sheltering from tornadoes in the cellar, then cleaning up the damage on the property, including substantial damage to their home. Over the course of the year, they have worked tirelessly to rebuild their cabin in order to welcome James into the family home.
The last pictures of the session were done on the back porch of the cabin— last year this was roofless and torn apart, but now is finished with hanging flowers and ceiling fans (thank goodness for some relief from that heat!). My how much changes in a year: a new baby, and a home better than ever for him to grow up in.
John and Natalie, thank you for running from tornadoes with me, for asking me to be the godmother of the best little boy, and trusting me to take your family pictures. You can count on me to do two of those three things anytime you ask... I'll let you decide which one I'd rather not repeat. ;)
