Catholic Spring Wedding, Greenleaf Barn, Tulsa, OK | Kathleen and Christopher

What a DAY. Kathleen and I are cubicle buddies at work and ever since her engagement session, we have been talking about me photographing her wedding. And, wow, I am so glad! Every detail was beautiful and enjoyable—from planning the day out together to showing up and hanging out with the girls getting ready, all the way to sunset husband and wife portraits.

While all of it was beautiful, one special moment honestly took my breath away. During Kathleen and Christopher's first dance, slowly Christopher's parents and his sister and her fiance (whose wedding you'll see on the blog in the future!) waltzed onto the floor and joined in. I couldn't help but think: What a testament to family. Here are these newlyweds, at the start of their life together, soaking in the first few moments as husband and wife. But they aren't alone. Beside them is a family, a unit, a symbol to rely on. Yes, no doubt these three separate couples in the middle of the dance floor all have sufferings we don't know, but in this moment, what was shown was a united front and an expression of where these two young couples came from (and where mom and dad started). It has been four days since this happened, and I'm still thinking about it! Kathleen and Christopher, congratulations on such a beautiful day! The weather, the people, the setting, could not have been more perfect for you both. It was such a joy to experience this day alongside you and serve you. You both radiated a simple joy and peace throughout the whole event and it spread like wildfire. I'm so excited for you to learn life together. Enjoy some of my very favorites from your day :)

Have you ever seen so much beautiful red hair in one picture?
